Johnny Foreigner

I'd like to take a break with finals and post a video from a band coming out of Birmingham by the name of Johnny Foreigner. I'm really digging the tweexcore bands coming out of the UK which reminds me that I found some old footage of the Los Campesinos show I attended back in summer which I will be posting soon. Here's Johnny's hit single

The Sounds-Hurt You

Is it just me, or does Maja resemble Holly from the Office?

Regardless, both of them can ride the DavidAmtrak any day!

Of Montreal - live on Radio K

Eight more days and still counting down for what will be an epic night that I will never forget. That's right, I'm talking about the Of Montreal show I've been waiting for the last two months! Skeletal Lamping already makes my head spin and it's only going to get better as HEALTH will also be there. Copy/Paste the link below for a two song jam session Of MOntreal did for Radiok

Longwave

I received some breaking live news last night that Longwave will be performing at Sonoma State on December 12th! Longwave is one of those band that take me back to my High School days while waiting in line to purchase a personal pan pizza with a gatorade as a beverage. I believe they will be playing a short set through Ksun which is the online radio station here at SSU. I'll keep you guy updated...

It was a close one, but the Warriors fell short in the end.

Hello Seahorse!-Wont Say Anything

Hello Seahorse! is a finding that made the month of October complete. Apart from being totally awesome, the band comes from my native land, Mexico! You can find Hello Seahorse! on Magic Marker Records with bands like Voxtrot,Boat, and Tullycraft also on the roster. Start counting your pesos because their EP will be coming out on November 11th!

Love In October-Like Nothing Ever Happened

"Love in October" is the perfect band name that describes the mood at the moment. I wish I had the mp3 for this song but I can't seem to find it anywhere. This song is as good as when unexpectedly found out I had insurance while when I broke my arm in a dodge-ball accident.

Passion Pit

"Passion Pit" is a new band that came out of no where! I got my hands on the song "sleepyhead" about two weeks ago and boy, the song has everything. It has claps, it has wild synths with a catchy choruses and not to mention, jingle bells in the background! I'm crossing my fingers and toes that hopefully I get a ride to go see them on the 31st of this month. Here's the video and mp3 for the epic song.

It's 12:30am and I can't get myself to read chapter 12 on the Bureaucracy for my Political Science class that I have at 9:00am every Friday. As any college student, I'm deciding to procrastinate and write in this blog. 4chan.org was introduced to me by my roommate last year. The website contains random posts about anything you can think of. When i say random I mean /b/!(RANDOM) Here are some pornographic pictures turned into works of art.

Dinner with the Band

Sam Mason is a very well known chef who owns a restaurant in New York. He uses his cooking techniques to prepare dishes that miraculously attract cool indie rock bands from around the world. He treats them to a dish of his, and they return the favor by playing a short set in his apartment. Bands like Tokyo Police Club, Matt and Kim, and Holy Hail are some of the bands who have performed. Here is a song from each of the the three bands I just mentioned that you will all enjoy. That's a promise...

KIMBO Defeated!

Last night I witnessed history written down in the books as Kimbo Slice was defeated in 15 seconds! The original fight was supposed to be Kimbo vs. Ken Shamrock but Shamrock suffered a cut on his left eyebrow which didn't allow him to fight that night. Seth Petruzelli steps up for the main event and makes a name for himself defeating the legendary street fighter. Watch the video and see Kimbo catch a beat- down! (finally)

Menomena-Wet and Rusting

Not joking, I probably listen to this song EVERYevery FN day! Menomena is a new band that has grabbed my attention in the last six months and will probably never get old. This song is sooooooooo good, that you get to see two little kids get hiphy at about 2:36 within the video. Take a look if you don't believe me and don't forget to tune in this Friday for Ksun at 2 o'clock.

Fleet Foxes-He Doesn't Know Why

I've seen Fleet Foxes all over the Internet for the past 6 months, but I never really gave them a shot. About two weeks ago a special friend sent me a copy of some of their material. I gave it a listen, but it didn't really satisfy my needs with music. Later in the week, I had a friend come up and visit and coincidentally, Fleet Foxes were on constant repeat in his car. I have to say that they they're slowly growing on me...

Friendship Surgery...robbed

This past week has been a big disappointment for the dorm. Sonoma State has an event called the Campus Movie Fest every year were they hand out cameras and macs for a week to make a five minute film. Last year we took best comedy with the epic "The Day I Decided to Become a Robot and Kill Everyone" video...

Pretty legit right?
This year I convinced my roommate and good friend, Kyle Britto

to gets gets hands dirty(literally) and defend our title. For five days, Kyle had no life and wrote the matrix with this video . Honestly, Friedship Surgery was top five of the 16 films shown but for some odd reason, it didn't get awarded in any category. It's a little fishy that the videos that won had some of the judges in part of their videos.
That prize should have been delivered to us without no question. Apparently, the video was to gruesome for a couple of P&%@#@*. Nonetheless, here's the video that should have one......but didn't

Noah and the Whale-Shape of my Heart

It was nice going to the city and meeting up with a very good friend from back home yesterday. It was almost unbelievable getting to see a very close friend from back in da' hood. As we were leaving Amoeba record store, I stumbled upon a Noah and the Whale flyer. Apparently, the band is playing a free show at Amoeba on the second of October(f-yess)!
I simply love the creativity about NATW videos that I had to put this up. Here's Noah and the Wall with "Shape of my Heart".

Tokyo Police Club-Graves

So it's no secret that I'm one of the biggest fans of TOKYO POLICE CLUB. These guys have taken over my life for the past two years and counting. They come a long way from baking cupcakes at their first show to getting a record label at Saddle Creek. Some people say they sold out appearing on MTV.It really makes no difference to me, as a fan who bought them food last time I saw them in Pomona, CA . Today, as I was Youtubing, I found their official video for "Graves", which happens to be me favorite song of their current record ELEPHANT SHELL. I heard this song back in 07' through the Daytrotter session TPC did back in February and instantly fell in love with the song. Tokyo Police Club is going to go on tour soon and this will be the first time I will be missing them as their playing The Treasure Island Music Festival in San Fran. which brings the ticket prices to 65$ for one day, and 115$ for both days. As a college student "ballin' on a budget" the money isn't available. But if you're around the area, definitely attend!

Mariposa & Halloween Swim Team

I can't think of a better week to start school again that to have a show here at Sonoma State. First, I have to say that Pack of Wolves wasn't my cup of tea. On the other hand, both, HWT and Mariposa impressed me in different ways.

Mariposa

For my first time actually listening to Mariposa, these guys were great! Seriously, both guys have real music talent. I caught myself spacing out and watching the drummer do his thing. It's just one of those guys who knows what he is doing. His partner, played his guitar like a baby getting his first toy. Nonetheless, I really dug Mariposa's set and you should definitely check these guys out.

Halloween Swim Team

fucking weird!

I was familiar with these guys from back home and it was nice having a little piece of Southern California come up. I got to meet these guys throughout the night and I have to say that their real "down to earth" guys. Their set was a little different than what I was expecting since their drummer was was out due to a wrist injury. Though, with three synthesizers, the trio were able to make a kid have a seizure in the middle of their set(no joke). If you live around the La/IE area, you should really go your way to see a glimpse of the Swim Team.

Feeling Better

The Teenagers will always remind me of car pulling with all my friends while going to work and singing to "Homecoming". I believe this video for "Feeling Better" was a fan-made video but nonetheless, I like the girls in it. The Teenagers must have their pimp hands strong because as you can see, the girls are crazy for the French boys. Maybe if I wear skinny jeans, have funky hair, and make up a British accent, I can run into an American "liddle slot".

Definition Isn't a bad thing

There's nothing wrong to have a little definition when it comes to working out. I signed up for body building this semester once again to try to get some results by winter. So I show up to class at about 10:45 to find the room filled with females ????. I assumed I was a bit early and continued with my stretches I learned from Sketchers(mandatory). Class began at 11 and surprisingly no males showed up. I must have been the weakest link in the room observing the softball girls were all bigger than me. I asked the coach why I was the only male there and to my surprise. I ENROLLED IN A WOMEN'S BODY BUILDING CLASS! >_<

(I got to review the new unreleased Of MOntreal album today and It didn't let me down. You'll get to hear some tracks soon when I begin my radio show)

The MIssion

That's an outline of the epic mission the went through this past Sunday. Hands down, it was the most stressful day of my entire life. Ten hours on bus/train from LA to SF with backpack and suitcase at hand. Not having a cell phone really fucked up my day as a bomb threat messed up all the public transportation in Frisco. (Some idiot decided to walk in the tunnels with suspicion of carrying a bomb). That's only the beginning of the longest day in my lifetime. Stress can really make your body do abnormal things that you would never think of doing. I tried to relax but homeless people smoking crack right next to me didn't not help(no joke). At one point I made a friend with a 35 year old Asian man who didn't speak English. Sign language can come a long way as he directed me to the airport for shelter for the night. I took over 15 buses all together and 7 different barts throughout the whole day! I arrive to airport an hour later and get kicked out within 10 minutes!!!!I continue my journey to Downtown San Francisco to find a nice dark spot to get some shut eye. The first bush I find reeks of two-week old piss and I keep walking as a refugee. I find a 24 hour Denny's and decide to spend the night in a booth. My body really needs some rest at this time but an African American gets in a fight with a complete stranger in the restaurant and slaps a female twice in the face which throws my sleep right out the window! The cops come storming in and after they arrest him, they come question me since I had front row seats to the brawl. I stay alert and awake all night and take the first bus at 6 am to Petaluma to a friend's house were I am staying at now. So many other things happened that I don't even want to mention. In the end, I turned out fine with only bruised ribs from carrying a box and a story I will never forget.....

Matt and Kim

I'm three hours away from becoming an American Citizen and I can't think of a better way to celebrate and bedroom dance to "Matt and Kim". Thanks to RCRDLBL.COM, the Brooklyn duet, came into my life. As of right now, life is pretty good at the moment. I met a wonderful girl in the last week, and, I will be returning to college up North in the next 4 days. Any who, Matt and Kim will be coming out with a new album called "Grand" which I will get my hands on as soon as get a stable mailing address. Here's MnK with 5k......(Kim is such a babe with her big koolade smile throughout the whole video).

Wainy Days

I love David Wain!
I just can't get enough.
I've been watching "Wainy Days" the whole day and every episode finds a way to make me laugh.
(The funniest part is when the girl comes over for the date and enters the door to be called a #%$@ %&*@ )

The world will be perfect the day you call a female a "fat chunky bitch" and before you know it, have her in your arms begging for more insults.

The Road-movie!

Last year, I joined a book club with two other females(mmmmhuh). The three of us took a Sunday to go to downtown Petaluma to Barnes and Nobles and get a book for the club. Within an hour we agreed on a book called "The Road" written by Cormac McArthy. We all couldn't set the book down the rest of the week and never got to meet and talk about the book because we all read it before the first scheduled meeting. Well, According to USA today, the film is in its making and you can count me in for the midnight showing. The book is about an unnamed catastrophe on Earth and a father and a son traveling down the Road for shelter and a place to begin their new lives. With only a gun loaded with two bullets and a shopping cart with blankets and canned food, the journey seems impossible. The book really shows the love for a son and the sacrifices a father does to keep his young alive. I highly recommend the book to anyone who enjoys reading before they go to sleep. I handed down the book to <3Aleksandra<3 from "Los Campesinos" with a love letter letting her know how beautiful she is this past July when they played in Pomona. I wonder if she popped open the book......

M.I.a terrorist?

Lately there's been quite of bit of Internet coverage about M.I.A using subliminal messages supporting a terrorist group in Sri Lanka. I'm not a big M.I.A fan so I've ignored the coverage until today. I decided to see what it was all about and the video I was directed to turned out to be quiet strong and gruesome. The video shows children and female suicide bombers actually blowing themselves up and several hundred dead bodies laying on the street with some of them decapitated. Well, the video does all the explaining so you be the judge. Does M.I.A support a terrorist group?

Born Ruffians-Little Garcon

Mang, I wish a day could be longer. Lately 24 hours isn't enough to do everything I'd like too. It might be my fault considering the 8 hours I must have every time I close my eyes at night. On occasion's, I like to sleep with music playing and last night Born Ruffians shined and brightened up my room to remind me to post them up on the blog today. The Canadian trio have released their latest album
which is absolutely great! I've been following the Ruffians for quite some time now and have to say that they are personally a favorite band of mine. Here's one of the tracks of the album with a bitching harmonica in the intro.

Bro Rape...on the rise

So last night I was hanging out with my friends; at their friends house. I hope that made sense. Nothing to special happened until phone calls were dialed and unexpected people showed up. Who am I referring to you may ask? At about midnight when the moon was high up in the sky, approximately 15 "bros" raided the backyard and had us surrounded. I've seen the video below which gave me the advantage knowing what these"bros" were up to. I stayed calm the first half an hour until one of them approached our circle and left a 32 pack of beer for all of us to drink. Who does that? Who leaves beer they payed for for other people to drink? A nice guy maybe, but clearly not in this case. I tried to warn the people around me but I believe they were unaware of what was watching them. As soon as I smelled axe body spray in the air, I found the nearest exit and walked home. I found out this morning that others weren't so lucky as me......To my viewers, please be aware of this sickening act of "Bro Rape" and take care your anus.

I'm still a new grasshopper to this new blog world. Be patient my listeners, because "the clams" are bringing mp3s to your hard drive very soon. Just know that I will never give up.......

Grizzley's new Jam

Oh man! oh man! Grizzly Bear's new song is sooooooo good. I have to admit that their other song "While You Wait For the Others" didnt really make me want to bite the bait."Two Weeks" is another story because it gives me the goosebumps every time I give it a listen. I don't even want to write how perfect it is anymore because it's only taking up time from you. Now sit back, close your eyes and drift away.

Cut of Your Hands BME Pain Olympic style

Have you ever been on a band's myspace and your scrolling down trying to find the comment you left minutes ago when your eye catches another band with a catchy band name? Well that's exactly how I ran into Cut Off Your Hands. I listened to "You an I" and from that moment on, I became a fan. I was scheduled to go see them live with "We Are Scientists", but when I showed up, COYH was replaced with Oakland's finest "the Morning Benders". Anyways, If your not familiar with the hit song "oh girl", I highly recommend to do whatever is possible to get hold of the track. It just one of those songs that can't escape the repeat button. You'll have to wait until fall when their debut album hit the racks. Here's the video for "Expectations" that was roaming around the space.

Unicorn Ivory

This past Sunday was a day with tragedy and euphoria all in 24 hours. After two years of being my slave and always giving me music on demand, my Ipod sadly went to Ipod heaven.I was down in the dumps the rest of the day as depression was getting the best of me. At about 6:00, I found myself holding back tears on my fat friend's couch. I have to admit that I have some pretty good friends as they agreed to make a song dedicated for my Ipod. We wrote some lyrics on a napkin and made a song within minutes. At about 6:10pm, Unicorn Ivory was officially a band thanks to Youtube.

Thao is Wow

Seriously, for the past three weeks I've been listening to this album everyday for the past three weeks nonstop. Thao Nguyen will easily make my top five albums of the year regardless of the competition. Personally, I'm speaking about the next Jenny Lewis because this babe has it all in one package. I highly recommend this album for anyone who wants to get their hands on some treasure. The band will start touring July 19th and UC Irvine will be my best shot to catch Thao in action. Here's my favorite track of the album.
Warning: Once your hear this song, you won't be able to get the who whooooooh who whoooooh whhhwooah out of your head. (you'll see)

Tell your friends!

I just began this blog about a week ago so please tell your friends, uncles,"padrinos", and your neighbors grandparents about the clams. To motivate you, I stumbled across on probably one of the funniest videos I've ever seen that I want to share with y'all.

Thanks for taking your time and spread the "palabra"(word)!

Summer Groff

It's always a great day when I begin the day with my mom's famous pancakes early in the morning. It's Friday, and the 4th of July is around the corner. I ended up on the Spinto Band's blog clicking on pop ups for penis enlargemnets. Boy, I still remember the first time when I listened to the marvelous hit single "Oh Mandy" back in high school and bowed down to the Spinto Band ever since. It's been quite a while now, and the new album is due out soon! Heres the video "Sumer Grof" which will appear on the forthcoming Spinto band release, "Moonwink".

Water Your Plants!

It's been a while since I've hit the theaters but this past Monday, Edward's won the best of me as very good friend of mine who is terrified of scary movies finally had the "cajones" to watch a rated R movie. I remember watching the trailer and goosebumps were attacking my arm after. Here's the short trailer M. Night The movie is now playing in a theater near you.Now if I was a movie critic I would have to give it a thumbs up with my left and a thumbs down with my right. The movie had horrible acting but the action was insane. It has a very well awareness message that the world can relate to. By the end of the movie, you'll think twice of watering your plants and grass. I have to say that this movie reminds me of the Holocaust due to the large quantity of people dying. I guarantee you that your mouth will drop at least five times during the film. If you have 10.50$ to spare, go watch "The Happening" plus a white kid getting blasted by a shotgun (awesome). PS: Don't eva' trust any ol lady that goes by the name of Ms. Jones!

One more thing! For all you Marvel fans. The rumors are true, the Avengers is being made as you read this!chika chika yeeaah

Lightspeed Champion

What can I say, Dev Hynes has talent. I've been listening to "Falling of the Lavenger Bridge" at least once a day for the past month or so. I think his blog is top notch and hopefully someday someone will say that about mine. Anyways, the venue had a very small crowd which had a positive effect and an installment of couches were set out. I had the privilege to attend the show with an old friend from high school and sit back and listen to Lightspeed Champions wonderful melodies. The show was worth every cent I spent and I advise anyone who is reading this to get a hold of the album because let me tell you.....good stuff mang.

I guess, deep down, my heart is not as pure as it was

Inside Man Part2

Disappointment, anger, and pity was probably what Denzel felt when he got cheated and humiliated in the movie "Inside Man". It turns out that some people have brains when it comes to robbery and crime. I learned this personally, as (excuse the language) a white trash couple outsmarted the Subway crew yesterday night. I'll get to the story in second but I just can't understand why people do this for a living. Darwin introduced the theory "survival of the fittest" but this is beyond having better camouflage or the sharpest beak. I hope these people enjoy the luxury of 45$ because I believe in a little thing called Karma.

what happened.......

About 5:20pm a middle aged caucasian woman comes in to purchase a cookie with a 50$ dollar bill marked with sharpie spelling out "Happy Birthday".

20 minutes later I'm helping a male caucasian acting really abnormal and shaky if you asked me. He orders a veggie delight and hands me a "rolled" 5$ dollar bill. I give him his change which comes out to be a dollar with one cent. He leaves the premises with a plan.

20 minutes pass the same man comes storming in to Subway demanding his "correct" change. He begins to make a scene and preaches that he gave me a 50$ dollar bill instead of a 5$.

I did what any Subway employee would do and stayed "fresh" as the food. I stood my ground and told him that I never received any 50$ dollar bill from him and if he had a problem to feel free to call my manager. He refused and wanted his money right away and I could tell his nervous system was getting the best of him.

One of my coworkers begins to panic but I stand ground. The criminal says "my grandma gave me that bill for my birthday, you can check your cash drawer and you will find a 50$ dollar bill that says "Happy Birthday". Thanks to his "titdirt" accomplice earlier dropping of the bait, we find the bill and come to a stop as we are defeated and give him his change. We sure learned this lesson in crime.

The Birth of the Clam

Hello everyone,

This will be my first entry in my very first blog. Thanks to youtube and google, anything is possible since I'm not very good with computers. I'm going to dedicate some of my time every week and post random posts about life, college, and most importantly, music. Before I go on, I want to introduce myself to anyone who is taking their time reading this. I'm nineteen year old boy who doesn't drive a car or own a cell phone. My parents crib stays in a city called Fontana known for it's raceway(Jeff Gordon). I attend Sonoma State University in Northern California were the weather is "hella" perfect. I used to be part of a radio station called Ksun and together with a very good friend formed Fwendtalk(myspace). My life is nothing too special because I do what every 19 year old boy does at his time which composes of skateboarding, an ipod, and working at a fast food restaurant(Subway). I have a few ideas for the future for this blog and will try my best to make it worth while and make your fingers type in http://www.clamslisteningtojams.com/

Lighstpeed Champion is playing in Pomona on Sunday and I'm 100% sure I'm going to attend, so expect a blog filled with pictures and the review of the show of course. If you have heard Dev Hynes' wonderful harmonies, I highly reccommend clicking this link in Lightspeed http://www.myspace.com/lightspeedchampion.
